Cristobalite is another polymorphic form of SiO2, with outstanding mechanical properties such as density 2.35 g / cm3, 6.5 mosh hardness and especially very high whiteness.

Cristobalite is used to make artificial stone with over 90% aggregate with polymer binder and colorings. Artificial stone panels can be shaped in large sizes, smooth and luxurious surface depending on the shaping method. Used for making table tops, kitchen cabinets and granite tiles.
Cristobalite is produced by heating silica sand to 1470oC and then quickly cooled so that SiO2 crystals exist in the form of Cristobalite. Material burning can be done in a rotary kiln using gaseous fuel to ensure that no dust or smoke will affect product quality.
