Frit is used to glaze ceramic tiles to meet the need for fast firing at low firing temperatures in ceramic production. The three most common frit types are clear frit, opaque frit, matt frit (translucent) to produce transparent glaze, opaque glaze and matt glaze, which must have medium and low melting temperatures (1000o - 1190oC), coefficient of thermal expansion from 5.0 - 7.2.10-6.K-1 to match the carpentry and bone of ceramic tiles factories.
